I'd tell my own story through you...

I thought I'd start off with some hopes that I have for my blog:

1. I want to have a place where I can express myself...whether it's through fashion, photography, music, etc. I've always been super shy so I figure this is one place where I can totally be myself.

2. I want to improve my photography skills. I've always loved looking at photos, especially the piles of old ones I come across at antique shops back home. The first time I really started taking pictures was on a school trip to Germany in high school, and those pictures have forever remained my favorites.

3. One of my New Years Resolutions is to come up with more interesting outfits with the clothes I have in my closet. I hope that by writing this blog, it'll help keep me motivated. I was given two vintage leather skirts that belonged to my mom in the lage 70s/early 80s over my winter break and they have totally inspired me to try different combinations of clothes, even if some of them do seem crazy and totally out there.

Those are my main goals for this blog and I hope that I achieve them in one way or another! And with that, I'll leave you with a picture I took in Germany. It's one of the towers outside of Wernigerode Castle in Wernigerode, just outside of the Harz Mountains.

Back so soon?

I didn't expect to post like 5 minutes after my last one but I did my first outfit pictures. I need to come up with a better location, as I live in a pretty old townhouse and the rooms aren't really big enough to really move around in. I took the zoomed out shots with my webcam and the detailed shots with my digital camera so the quality is a little weird in some of them.

OUTFIT DETAILS:
Cardigan: J. Crew
Gray tank top: Abercrombie & Fitch
Jeans: 7 For All Mankind via Bloomingdales
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: ModCloth

I'm going to a meeting tonight for an honors fraternity at my school. I really want to get involved on campus so hopefully they like me enough to ask me to join. Tonight's meeting is actually a game night so I had to wear something I'd be comfortable moving around in and all that. I loved this cardigan when I first bought it but the fit is just a little off now, so I need to remedy that somehow. And I'll most likely end up changing into my Sperry's since there's a chance of snow tonight and it's absolutely FREEZING outside!

By the way: ignore the basketball poster in the background of the 2nd picture. I share a room with one of my roommates and that's her half of the room. I could honestly care less about basketball haha.

So here it goes...

Needless to say, this is my first blog post. Ever. I never thought I would start a blog but then sometime last semester, I somehow stumbled across loads of lovely blogs and I was inspired to start my own. So before I get started, if anyone has any helpful hints for me, I would LOVE to hear them as I honestly have no idea what the heck I'm doing.

Well, I guess I'll start off by saying a little bit about myself:
I'm 19 and finishing up my sophomore year of college in Richmond, VA...I just transferred to this college last semester from another university and it was the best decision I have ever made. It's totally affected the way I think and act, allowing me to open up a lot more than I ever did before. That's one reason I'm starting this blog! I'm originally from Northern Virginia and am the youngest of 6 children. I love being away at school but the things I miss most are my family, my weiner dog named Maggie, and my beautiful cat named Alice. Oh, and of course, home cooked meals. Starting soon I hope to do some outfit posts but for now, I'll post some pictures of my lovely pets since I already mentioned them.

This is my Maggie :) This is how she greets me whenever I come home and it always makes my day. Whenever she sticks her ears out like that, it reminds me of an elephant. That white dog next to her is our other dog, Dixie, by the way.

The cat on the left is my Alice. She's a pure-bred Himalayan and was given to me as a gift for my 12th birthday. She is quite full of herself, but I would be too if I had a coat as beautiful as hers on my back at all times (I have an obsession with coats, as you can tell)! Next to her is one of our other cats, Billie.
